Trained in several forms of mediation and spiritual practice. Trained
for fifteen years with Masters of the Advaita Vedanta tradition of India.
(Advaita means Oneness). Synthesis Meditation is for anyone who wants to develop an awareness of the spiritual dimensions within themselves and to find ways of enabling that to transform daily life. It brings together practices from several traditions, Eastern and Western, to facilitate the process of harmonising, stilling and healing the personality and enabling it to open to the Light and vision of the deeper Self. Synthesis Meditation is based on the premise that, despite apparent differences, there is a common thread running through all the major religious and spiritual traditions, often referred to as the Timeless Wisdom. This wisdom affirms again and again that in order to make and maintain contact with the real Self - the Great Spirit, God, the Light, or whatever one wants to call it - the prerequisite is love. Love for That and love for all living beings, together with the experience of the total interconnectedness of all of creation. Synthesis Meditation contends that it has never been more imperative than it is today to foster this experience and this understanding, to bring about peace between peoples and healing for our damaged ecology. The meditation proceeds by simple steps, starting with you now, in the present moment. After the mediation we reflect together on a story, poem or other writing from one of the sacred traditions which embodies a particular aspect of the path. Sometimes workshop exercises are also included in this part of the session, helping to clarify and integrate the material of the reading. Above all you are invited to find your own active and creative responses to the literature and the meditation in your work and life. MEDITATION WORKSHOPS 2003 |
